Second Bosphorus Bridge 1988

Bridging Two Continents

All the deck boxes were placed in just one month in the summer of 1987. It was estimated that the techniques of Dr William Brown (Engineer for Construction) saved considerable time.

The deck or girder of this bridge, like that of the First Bosphorus Bridge, is a flat, streamlined hollow box, which is superior in aerodynamic characteristics. It is suspended by hanger ropes at intervals of 18m.
